I've got it...
My family is insane.
In a good way, of course.
Lets start on Thursday...
We left for Texas to see my sisters, and more importantly so I could meet my niece Kenzie!
I drove for the first hour and a half, but then I decided it was time for a nap.
I slept for a while and then I watched some movies. I'm sorry, but nothing exciting happened on the way there.
I thought I was going to be kidnapped at one point though...
My dad pulled over at this one really creepy old gas station to fix our windshield wiper. It looked kind of like this...

This isn't the actual gas station... but similar. |
Don't misunderstand, I didn't look like this when we actually arrived. We got to the hotel at 3 AM... I was not picture appropriate. This photo was taken the next morning.. I was the first person ready so I went for a walk and I took some pictures of myself and the hotel staff.
Next we left for Danielle's house! I was super excited to meet Kenzie, but I had to get some coffee first.

I'm surprised my parents let me go anywhere with them. |

Funny story about this picture right here...
This is Micheal and Danielle's address.
It is on a post at the end of their drive way.
When we arrived at the house, I ran out to take this picture and on my way back to the house I (very gracefully) slipped in the water that was on the drive way from the sprinklers and proceeded to face-plant and slide about 3 feet.
No bumps. No scrapes. Nothing major.
Just one small bruise on my shoulder.
I couldn't go anywhere or do anything all weekend without somebody telling me "Don't trip!" or "Emma, there's a little step here" or "Be careful! The carpet my be slick!".
But hey, that's what family is for!
Meet Kenzie, everybody!!
I'm a bit of a movie buff so when I heard that they hadn't seen two of my favorite movies, we had to watch them right away.

On Saturday, my brother-in-law, Micheal, and my niece Sydney, who is home from Georgia for the summer, got back to the house! We hung out for a while and then Saturday night we went over to Michael's parents' house for family night.
I had so much fun.
The game of spoons we were playing got pretty intense at some points.
Sydney and I were hiding spoons under the table, people were yelling, and I'm pretty sure that at some point somebody had a shank.
I'm kidding.
Nobody was hurt, and there were no weapons drawn.
I'm so glad I got to meet the family, they are all so welcoming and caring, and they have a great sense of humor!
I know what you're thinking. "She's just sucking up so that she can be known as the fun and crazy aunt!!"
You are absolutely correct.
Wait it gets weirder.
As my mom was reading the information about the landmark, she thought the name of the husband of the lady who discovered the legs sounded familiar... so she called my Grandpa to ask him if he knew anything about the name.
I'm related to the people who found these legs.
I'M RELATED TO THE LADY WHO DISCOVERED GIANT LEGS IN THE MIDDLE OF TEXAS.
I was thrilled to have found this out.
Leg discovering runs in my veins.
I am a leg discoverer.
All kidding aside though, it is pretty cool.
Also, Saturday was National Geek Pride Day. I participated by wearing a series of geeky shirts all day.

Before we left on Sunday, Danielle, Sydney, and I made tie-dyes!

We left Sunday afternoon, and on the way back we stopped in Liberal, Kansas.
Kansas?
I know.
But, it's the hometown of Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz".
I know what you're thinking again!
"COOL!!"
No.
These things are pretty dang creepy, yet I took pictures.

Honestly... can you blame me for taking this picture?!? |

Apparently not only is this where Dorothy is from, but Liberal was also visited by "The Great Coronado" |

This Dorothy statue looks more like a lost old woman on the street corner |
Here are some extra photos from our trip!
Yep, this picture pretty much sums up the three of us.
Ours is a family full of love, happiness, and of course,
Laughter.

We were trying to get Kenzie to open her mouth too.. she doesn't cave to peer pressure, |
