We started off on an hour long ferry ride..
We visited the Ocracoke lighthouse once we got back to land..
Pretty cool, huh?
Lunch time!!
Let me preface this next montage of photos with a story...
When I was very little we went to visit my aunt in San Antonio, Texas. We were out to eat and my parents and Aunt ordered oysters on the half shell as an appetizer, they looked slimy and gross, but everybody seemed to be enjoying them. My Aunt asked if I would like to try one, and I accepted the offer. It slid into my mouth and I tried to chew it. I tried to be polite and didn't say anything.
I kept chewing.
I must not have hidden my disgust as well as I thought because, without saying anything, my dad just slid his napkin across the table to me.
I spit it out.
I haven't eaten an oyster since...
Until today!!
Next we went to the Blackbeard museum...
I owe a big shout out to the ladies who work at Teach's Hole. They were so sweet and were very interested in my trip!
They also added this Blackbeard pin to my backpack! It is a specially made pin that only that specific store sells!
Blackbeard is going to Sicily now!
Now it's back to the Ferry...
Surely the adventure is over.
When all of a sudden..
The boat honks.
Cool. That's the first time we've done that!
No adventure here.
But then..
The boat stops.
Just stops.
In the middle of the ocean.
What?!
AN ADVENTURE!
At this point I'm looking for the closest piece of land to swim to.
I was sure that we were going down.
I'm a goner.
The boat is now rotating.
Did we get lost?
Are we turning around?
I want off of this boat.
There are crew members running past us with flashlights!
My brain was going a million miles per hour!
How exciting!
...I'm going to die.
This could be a hostage situation.
WE'RE DOING A LOOPDY DOO!
Snakes on a boat!!??
No...
We ran into a sand bar.
That's it?!
Oh well.
It's time to leave now...
Bye-bye beach!
Thanks for the memories!
Keep watching for the next post!
I will pick up Vittoria in 2 days!
And one last quick thing...
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, VITTORIA!
